A moving service is certainly not essential. Many people choose to relocate on their own, renting a van and calling friends for help. However, this is not always the best solution and is not suitable for every move. When moving on your own, you have to take care of the furniture, disassembly and assembly, protection, carrying up stairs, loading, safe transport, and finally unloading at the new location. Additionally, you need people to help you with all of this. The move itself can be stressful, and by taking on the entire organization and responsibility for execution, you add to that stress. In more complex relocations, saving a few hundred euros often does not outweigh the extra work, time, and stress. Of course, there are exceptions, and for smaller, simpler moves, handling it yourself can make perfect sense. At Slo Drive, we take care of the entire process: protection, disassembly, carrying, moving up stairs, loading, securing the cargo, transport, unloading, and if necessary, reassembly. We have suitable vehicles, protective materials, tools, and experienced movers. We believe that a professionally and safely executed move significantly reduces the stress that comes with changing homes or business premises.

Two main factors influence the final price: the quantity and complexity of the move. In terms of complexity, we mainly consider the floors, elevator, access to the building, distance of the vehicle from the entrance, narrow staircases, heavy or fragile items, necessary disassembly and assembly, as well as protection and packaging. Regarding quantity, we are primarily interested in how much furniture, boxes, and other items are being moved. Based on this, we can estimate the duration of the move, the necessary number of movers, and the size and number of vehicles. Packing personal items can be one of the more time-consuming parts of the move. If you want to reduce costs, we recommend that you pack and label your personal items yourself before our arrival. This way, you also know best where each item is located. If you cannot or do not want to do this yourself, we can take care of the entire packing and labeling.

Before starting, we inspect the premises and assess how the emptying can be done most easily and safely. We check access, stairs, elevators, and what tools we will need. In the first phase, we remove smaller items such as books, clothes, and various old junk. Then we tackle the furniture, necessary disassembly, and if needed, disconnecting appliances from the network. For larger clearances, we usually use at least two vehicles. In one, we load furniture or materials that can be separated, and in the other, mixed bulk items and other materials. If only furniture needs to be removed, the emptying is generally faster and consequently more cost-effective. Once the property is emptied, we sweep the premises and tidy up as part of the basic package. By agreement, we can also arrange for additional cleaning, which includes vacuuming, cleaning with detergents, washing windows, removing cobwebs and stubborn dirt, and other necessary tasks.
